The Dalai Lama has accused US President Donald Trump of lacking \u201cmoral principle\u201d, in a wide-ranging BBC interview in which the Tibetan spiritual leader said that any female successor should be attractive.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne day he says something, another day he says something,\u201d the 83-year-old Buddhist monk said of the US president. \u201cBut I think (there is a) lack of moral principle.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen he became president he expressed \u2018America First\u2019. That is wrong. America they should take the global responsibility,\u201d the Dalai Lama said, adding that Trump\u2019s emotions are \u201calso a little bit\u2026 too complicated\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Nobel Peace Prize winner told the BBC from his exile in Dharamsala in northern India that if his successor is a woman then she should be attractive.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf female Dalai Lama comes, then she should be more attractive,\u201d he said. \u201cIf female Dalai Lama, oh, oh\u2026 that people, I think to prefer, not see her, that face.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also reiterated his views on immigration into Europe, saying that only a \u201climited number\u201d of refugees should be allowed to stay.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe European countries should take these refugees and give them education and training, and then aiming is returning to their own land,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut the whole of Europe eventually become a Muslim country? Impossible. Or an African country. Also impossible\u2026 Keep Europe for Europeans,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The Dalai Lama has made India his home since fleeing Tibet in 1959 and has been a thorn in Beijing\u2019s side ever since.<\/p>\n

China brands him a \u201cwolf in a monk\u2019s robe\u201d and accuses him of trying to split China.<\/p>\n

He told the BBC however that he believes China \u201cis changing\u201d, saying he has had contact \u201centirely privately\u201d with retired Chinese officials and scholars who have connections with the Beijing government.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the Chinese themselves is changing their attitude,\u201d he said, adding that President Xi Jinping had \u201cnot yet\u201d asked for a meeting.<\/p>\n
