However, fans have also pinned Wizkid as the major influence on his music.<\/p>\n<p>The debate, which gets heated on Twitter, has fans who think he tries to sound like Wizkid with the opposing argument insisting that he is a young man trying to find his own unique sound.<\/p>\n<p>Music executive @Ovieo tweeted, \u201cRema is turning out to be a younger version of Wizkid, in style and sound. I didn\u2019t see it at first.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/zUU1bIWpH5c?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cHaving Wiz and Rema in the same sentence is probably the highest compliment at this stage of his career. Also, it takes nothing away from him. Trust me, you want the kid in conversations like these.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>@O_parta wrote, \u201cSounds very much like Wizzy hope he can keep up the flow and make it to that big stage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>@Therealdaddymo tweeted, \u201cThat Dumebi track really do sound like Wizkid, style, voice and all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>@UncleEve wrote, \u201cMost artists start out trying to emulate people dey admire. I think(I hope) he\u2019ll find his own sound soon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut as far as star power, I don\u2019t think there\u2019s been a new artist with his \u201cit\u201d factor since Wiz. Even without the Mavin backing, you see a future star.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, other fans felt the comparison was unnecessary and Rema should be given time to own his sound.<\/p>\n<p>@Venturez said, \u201cWe should just wait for his subsequent projects. I\u2019ve listened to some of his tracks and only Dumebi sounds somewhat like Wizkid.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI also think people aggressively comparing him to Wiz might not be too cool for his longtime career, he might just because of that later end up in Wiz\u2019s shadows.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>@_oselunamen said, \u201cHe isn\u2019t!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can we dead this narrative? As much as we love and respect Wiz and hope everything is an offshoot of him. Can we just give Rema wiggle room to grow?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>@Oshomah tweeted, \u201cStill don\u2019t see it. Wizkid first set of contents were quite lyrical and meaningful.
