You know GOIL; we always try to serve the right quantities to our customers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut these are machines. As they work, some trigger and over deliver and some trigger and underdeliver,\u201d he also said, not discounting the GSA findings.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Darke noted that GOIL was aware of the potential of such problems and had checks in place to rectify such anomaly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a system in place [to check such issues]\u2026We also, occasionally go round to verify. Where there are problems, we rectify them. Maybe it is unfortunate this thing has happened. Maybe they got to the station when the issues had not been rectified.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>GOIL was among ten oil companies that were\u00a0cited for under delivering fuel to consumers after\u00a0unannounced visits to 65 fuel stations by the GSA.<\/p>\n<p>The other companies were\u00a0Shell, Motorway Extension; Total McCarthy Hill; Frimps Oil, Tetegu junction; Frimps Oil, Spintex Road; Glory Oil, Spintex Road; Allied Oil, Sakaman; Shell, Amanfrom West and Goodness Energy at Kasoa.<\/p>\n<p>Two other companies; Galaxy Oil, Spintex Road and Agapet, Spintex Road were found to have broken the GSA seal without permission.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Call for sanctions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC) called the report unsurprising and <strong>called for severe sanctions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know that some fines had been applied but it looks like the fines have not been deterrent enough to stop these recalcitrant OMCs who decide to just adjust their pump to cheat consumers.
