{"id":634380,"date":"2019-06-11T19:37:18","date_gmt":"2019-06-11T19:37:18","guid":{"rendered":"<br><div>\n<figure class=\"fff post-thumbnail\" itemprop=\"associatedMedia\" itemscope=\"\" itemtype=\"http:\/\/schema.org\/ImageObject\"><img class=\"post_layout_5_img\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.ghana-mma.com\/2019\/06\/MenzGold-pic.jpg\" alt=\"Set up c\u2019ttee to address our locked "},"modified":"2019-06-11T19:37:18","modified_gmt":"2019-06-11T19:37:18","slug":"set-up-cttee-to-address-our-locked-up-funds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2019\/06\/11\/set-up-cttee-to-address-our-locked-up-funds\/","title":{"rendered":"Set up c&#8217;ttee to address our locked up funds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<figure class=\"fff post-thumbnail\" itemprop=\"associatedMedia\" itemscope=\"\" itemtype=\"http:\/\/schema.org\/ImageObject\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"post_layout_5_img\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.ghanamma.com\/2019\/06\/MenzGold-pic.jpg\" alt=\"Set up c\u2019ttee to address our locked up funds \u2013 Menzgold customers\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>The Coalition of Aggrieved Customers of Menzgold is demanding the formation of a committee comprising their executives, Parliament, government and Menzgold officials to determine the way forward in retrieving their monies.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They also want the government to involve them in the decision-making processes on the possible revocation of Menzgold CEO, Nana Appiah Mensah\u2019s Interpol red alert.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A spokesman for the coalition, Frederick Forson, expressed members\u2019 concerns with their current level of involvement in the situation to Citi News.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018If we are part of the decision-making process we will all be in the know,\u201d Mr. Forson said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cFrom the communication with the government side, especially the attorney general\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and NAM1 somebody is not telling us the real issues (about) what is going in Dubai,\u201d the spokesman added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Coalition has organised several demonstrations and press conferences demanding the retrieval of their monies since the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) halted operations of Menzgold in December 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Commenting on changes the customers would like to see made, Mr. Forson advised that the government set up a committee to look into the issue. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe want a committee to be set up, we want Parliament to come in\u2026 we the government and the Menzgold people also to be part,\u201d Mr. Forson said <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since MenzGold operations were halted in December customers are still yet to receive any of the finances.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWhat is the government going to do to ensure that our monies are paid?
