{"id":632192,"date":"2019-06-07T07:39:22","date_gmt":"2019-06-07T07:39:22","guid":{"rendered":"<br><div>\n<figure class=\"fff post-thumbnail\" itemprop=\"associatedMedia\" itemscope=\"\" itemtype=\"http:\/\/schema.org\/ImageObject\"><img class=\"post_layout_5_img\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.ghana-mma.com\/2019\/06\/microfinance-logo-for-cnr.jpg\" alt=\"Customers of collapsed "},"modified":"2019-06-07T07:39:22","modified_gmt":"2019-06-07T07:39:22","slug":"customers-of-collapsed-microfinance-firms-to-start-receiving-locked-deposits-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2019\/06\/07\/customers-of-collapsed-microfinance-firms-to-start-receiving-locked-deposits-today\/","title":{"rendered":"Customers of collapsed microfinance firms to start receiving locked deposits today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<figure class=\"fff post-thumbnail\" itemprop=\"associatedMedia\" itemscope=\"\" itemtype=\"http:\/\/schema.org\/ImageObject\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"post_layout_5_img\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.ghanamma.com\/2019\/06\/microfinance-logo-for-cnr.jpg\" alt=\"Customers of collapsed microfinance firms to start receiving locked deposits today\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>The Bank of Ghana\u2019s appointed receiver for the 347 collapsed microfinance companies, Eric Nana Nipah, will today start paying depositors whose claims have been validated and agreed.<\/p>\n<p>This follows the release of funds by the Government to the Receiver.<\/p>\n<p>A release issued by the receiver said over 420 personnel have been deployed across the country to validate and approve claims and to start making payments to depositors whose claims have been validated and agreed, without delay.<\/p>\n<p>Payments to depositors will be made at designated branches of CBG, following notifications to these Depositors from the office of the Receiver.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDepositors whose claims have been validated and agreed will receive phone calls from the Receiver\u2019s representatives confirming the amounts due to them, and directing them to the designated CBG branches for the processing and payment of their claims to the extent possible,\u201d the press release said.<\/p>\n<p>Depositors will be required to provide valid ID documentation. These can either be passports, NHIS cards, Voters ID and Drivers Licenses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn accordance with the order of ranking provided in the relevant sections of the Banks and Specialised Deposit-Taking Institutions Act, 2016, \u00a0Act 930, all other \u00a0Creditors will be paid their claims depending on the quantum and timing of asset realisations in the receivership of the affected microfinance companies,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Nipah called on all depositors of the defunct microfinance companies to exercise patience as government has made available funds to pay each and every depositor whose claim(s) have been validated and agreed, to the extent possible.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"ctx-article-root\"\/>  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a style=\"display:none\" rel=\"follow\" href=\"http:\/\/megatheme.ir\/\" title=\"\u0642\u0627\u0644\u0628 \u0648\u0631\u062f\u067e\u0631\u0633\">\u0642\u0627\u0644\u0628 \u0648\u0631\u062f\u067e\u0631\u0633<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Bank of Ghana\u2019s appointed receiver for the 347 collapsed microfinance companies, Eric Nana Nipah, will today start paying depositors whose claims have been validated and agreed.
