However, where the amount is in excess of $10,000.00, the whole amount shall be declared using the Currency Declaration Form (CDF) indicating the source and purpose for carrying such an amount. If you have someone else carrying the currency or monetary instrument for you, you must also declare at the point of entry or exit.<\/li>\n<li>Failure to declare or a false declaration shall lead to the seizure and\/ or forfeiture of all the currency or monetary instruments, and may be subjected to penalties and\/ or criminal prosecution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The notice went on to clarify that monetary instruments include coins, currency, traveller\u2019s cheques and bearer instruments such as personal or cashier cheques, bearer shares and bonds.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-509024\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.ghanamma.com\/2019\/04\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-04-29-at-10.59.46-AM.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"939\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>According to the Bank of Ghana, transportation of currency through mails or cargo is strictly prohibited, and that such amounts shall be confiscated to the State upon seizure.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"ctx-article-root\"\/>  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a style=\"display:none\" rel=\"follow\" href=\"http:\/\/megatheme.ir\/\" title=\"\u0642\u0627\u0644\u0628 \u0648\u0631\u062f\u067e\u0631\u0633\">\u0642\u0627\u0644\u0628 \u0648\u0631\u062f\u067e\u0631\u0633<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Date: Apr 29, 2019 5:40pm Ernest Addison, BoG Governor.
