Close to 1,000 Ghanaians have signed an online petition to mount pressure on the police to find the three kidnapped Takoradi girls.<\/p>\n

After nine months Priscilla Mantebea Koranchie, 15, Ruth Love Quayson, 18, and Priscilla Blessing Bentum, 21 are yet to be found after they were reported kidnapped in the Takoradi metropolis.<\/p>\n

Nigerian Samuel Wills is standing trial as the prime suspect.<\/p>\n

Since his capture in December, 2018, Samuel Wills, who broke jail once for which he was sentenced in February, has not been able to lead the police to the whereabouts of the girls.<\/p>\n

Samuel once sent the police on a wild goose chase.<\/p>\n

There were recent reports that the girls have been found but police denied the reports.<\/p>\n

The online petition initiated by Child Rights International is asking Ghanaians to support the families to demand the whereabouts of the girls \u2013 26 days after the assurance from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know where the girls are,\u201d the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department, DCOP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah told reporters last earlier this month.<\/p>\n

Executive Director of Child Rights International Bright Appiah told Joy News that in two weeks the petition will be submitted to the relevant quarters for action.<\/p>\n

According to Mr Appiah, when his outfit visited the families at Diabene and Kansaworado in Takoradi, they were one in their condemnation of the way the police is dealing with them.<\/p>\n

Spokesperson for the families, Michael Grant Hayford, lamented, \u201cshe came up to say they know where the girls are, and it\u2019s getting to one month now, there\u2019s nothing like information reaching us that, oh the girls are here, we should come and see them, there\u2019s nothing like that\u201d.<\/p>\n

Pointing at the mother of Priscilla Bentum who was weeping, an elderly uncle of the missing girl Stephen Agyekum stated:\u201c Look at this woman, if she dies, it will be because of the utterances of the police.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhenever she calms down, the police come up with something to make her grieve, even more, it\u2019s not fair,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
