{"id":606858,"date":"2019-04-10T23:55:11","date_gmt":"2019-04-10T23:55:11","guid":{"rendered":"<br><div>\n<p class=\"floatLeft\">General News of Wednesday, 10 April 2019<\/p>\n<p class=\"floatRight\"><strong>Source: <\/strong>3news.com <\/p>\n2019-04-10\n\n<div class=\"article-left\">\n<p class=\"article-image\"><img src=\"https:\/\/cdn.ghana-mma.com\/2019\/03\/21265735."},"modified":"2019-04-10T23:55:11","modified_gmt":"2019-04-10T23:55:11","slug":"no-timeline-for-vigilante-dialogue-peace-council-chair","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2019\/04\/10\/no-timeline-for-vigilante-dialogue-peace-council-chair\/","title":{"rendered":"No timeline for vigilante dialogue \u2013 Peace Council Chair"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"floatLeft\">General News of Wednesday, 10 April 2019<\/p>\n<p class=\"floatRight\"><strong>Source: <\/strong>3news.com <\/p>\n<p>2019-04-10<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-left\">\n<p class=\"article-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.ghanamma.com\/2019\/03\/21265735.295.jpg\" alt=\"Rev Emmanuel Asante Christian Council\" title=\"Rev Emmanuel Asante Christian Council\" width=\"295\" height=\"184\" \/><span class=\"play-icon\">play video<\/span><span class=\"image_caption\"><span>Chairman of the National Peace Council, Rt Rev Professor Emmanuel Asante<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"clear:right\"> The National Peace Council (NPC) says it cannot put a time frame on the mediation of the dialogue between the two major political parties on the need to stop the activities of political vigilante groups in the country.<\/p>\n<p>The Council said with the kick-start of the mediation on Tuesday, it will continue meeting with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and New Patriotic Party (NPP) until an amicable resolution is reached.<\/p>\n<p>At the maiden meeting in Accra on Tuesday, the two major political parties emphasized the need to stop the activities of political vigilante groups in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Both parties have among other things, agreed to stop the ownership, hiring and the utilization of vigilante or militia groups by political members.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking in an exclusive interview with Onua FM\u2019s Yen Sempa hosted by Bright Kwasi Asempa on Wednesday, Chairman of the National Peace Council Rt Rev Professor Emmanuel Asante said \u201cthis is the first step and we have not settled on anything\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need to have commitment of the parties so we shall meet again on April 29\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Prof Asante explained that \u201cwe cannot put time frame on this.
