MTN Ghana, the multi-award winning telecoms giant, is to spend $160 million dollars in improving network technology and Information Technology Systems this year to drive its efforts at giving the customer an optimal experience in business and social services.<\/p>\n

Mr Selorm Adadevoh, the Chief Executive Officer, at an Editors\u2019 Engagement in Accra, on Monday, said in making 2019, the \u2018Year of the Customer\u2019 the Company would extend its technology leadership through LTE Advanced (Long-term Evolution) and 4G+. <\/p>\n

It would, consequently, implement more than 900 4G LTE sites ; 277 3G sites and 450 2G sites.<\/p>\n

A key highlight of the \u2018Customer centric\u2019 era is the soon to be launched MTN TurboNet router, a plug and play internet router, which comes with high powered external antenna and data SIM, which enables it to deliver fast internet in the company\u2019s 4G locations.<\/p>\n

TurboNet provides instant high speed internet for up to 32 users at the same time.<\/p>\n

The CEO emphasised the importance of achieving technology excellence, saying it was the driving force for achieving the right efficiencies across the spectrum to serve the customer\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n

As part of the company\u2019s smartphone drive, Mr Adadevoh said, the KaiOs Smart feature phone would be launched in this quarter; while various MTN apps, focused on self-care, music and messaging, would also be launched to enable customers to enjoy easy access to services .<\/p>\n

The catchphrase for celebrating the customer, is \u201cWe Dey 4 you\u201d. Everywhere you go\u201d.<\/p>\n

Data, Digital, Mobile Financial Services and Voice products , he said, are expected to remain the drivers of the company, which now has more than 20 million customers, and made a profit of more than GHC1 billion last year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
