Thirty-five years on from the original Terminator, Arnold Schwarzenegger has finally caught up with Sarah Connor \u2013 better known as actress Linda Hamilton.<\/p>\n
The pair were reunited on the last day of the CinemaCon event in Las Vegas, where footage from the latest film in the Terminator series was unveiled.<\/p>\n
Schwarzenegger, now 71, said he was \u201cso excited\u201d to be reunited with Hamilton and director-producer James Cameron.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe whole team is back together,\u201d he told an audience of cinema owners.<\/p>\n
In the original Terminator film, Schwarzenegger played a killer cyborg sent from the future to kill Hamilton\u2019s character.<\/p>\n
The pair returned for 1991 sequel Terminator 2: Judgment Day and will be seen again in Terminator: Dark Fate, due out in October.<\/p>\n
The new film picks up the action where Terminator 2 left off, ignoring the other sequels and reboots made between 2003 and 2015.<\/p>\n
Deadpool\u2019s Tim Miller is directing the film, with Cameron \u2013 director of the first two instalments \u2013 on board as a producer.<\/p>\n
Thursday\u2019s presentations also included footage from Gemini Man, the latest science-fiction opus from director Ang Lee.<\/p>\n
The film sees Will Smith squaring off against a younger version of himself \u2013 a technical challenge that Lee said had necessitated \u201ca leap of faith\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cI had it up to here with so much Will Smith,\u201d joked the Oscar-winning director of Brokeback Mountain and Life of Pi.<\/p>\n
Other stars in Las Vegas on Thursday included actresses Jamie Lee Curtis and Octavia Spencer, who were among the honourees at the event\u2019s valedictory awards ceremony.<\/p>\n
Held annually in Las Vegas, the CinemaCon event is an opportunity for film studios to promote their wares before an international audience of cinema owners and managers.<\/p>\n
Earlier this week, Dame Helen Mirren played to the gallery by rounding on streaming giant Netflix, viewed by many as a threat to cinema attendances and theatrical exhibition.<\/p>\n
