{"id":605445,"date":"2019-04-05T22:59:13","date_gmt":"2019-04-05T22:59:13","guid":{"rendered":"<br><div>\n<p class=\"floatLeft\">Business News of Friday,  5 April 2019<\/p>\n<p class=\"floatRight\"><strong>Source: <\/strong>Miriam Osei - Agyemang<\/p>\n2019-04-05\n\n<div class=\"article-left\">\n<p class=\"article-image\"><img src=\"https:\/\/cdn.ghana-mma.com\/2019\/04"},"modified":"2019-04-05T22:59:13","modified_gmt":"2019-04-05T22:59:13","slug":"ghana-and-denmark-renew-maritime-cooperation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2019\/04\/05\/ghana-and-denmark-renew-maritime-cooperation\/","title":{"rendered":"Ghana and Denmark renew Maritime cooperation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"floatLeft\">Business News of Friday,  5 April 2019<\/p>\n<p class=\"floatRight\"><strong>Source: <\/strong>Miriam Osei &#8211; Agyemang<\/p>\n<p>2019-04-05<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-left\">\n<p class=\"article-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.ghanamma.com\/2019\/04\/45331276.295.jpg\" alt=\"Tove Degnbol  Danish Ambassador  \" title=\"Tove Degnbol  Danish Ambassador  \" width=\"295\" height=\"189\" \/><span class=\"image_caption\"><span>H.E Tove Degnbol, Ambassador of Denmark to Ghana<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"clear:right\">Ghana and Denmark have today signed a memorandum of understanding to mark the continuation of the strategic Maritime cooperation which began in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The second phase is expected to enhance e-navigation in Ghana, support implementation of international maritime regulations and train tug boat captains in advanced simulators in Denmark between 2019-2023.<\/p>\n<p>The extensive bilateral engagement between the two maritime administrations began in 2017 and sorts to support the Ghana Maritime Authority to implement and enforce regulations adopted by the international Maritime Authority, introduce the e-navigation platform and provide training to the pilots of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) to ensure efficient flow of trade in the Port of Tema.<\/p>\n<p>Ghana, in 2017 became the first in Africa and fifth in the world to pilot an e-navigation platform.<\/p>\n<p>The Ambassador of Denmark to Ghana H.E Tove Degnbol says this achievement is a major milestone in the Ghana \u2013 Denmark maritime collaboration.<\/p>\n<p>On his part, the Director of the Ghana Maritime Authority Thomas Kofi Alonsi said one of the major benefits of the maritime cooperation was the signing of a bilateral Memorandum of understanding between Denmark and Ghana for a mutual recognition of seafarer certificates.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the Phase II of the strategic sector cooperation will continue to assist the Ghana Maritime Authority to implement the corrective action to adherence to the International Maritime Organization standard of practice.<\/p>\n<p>The Director General expressed his profound gratitude to the Danish government for providing funding for the project.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a style=\"display:none\" rel=\"follow\" href=\"http:\/\/megatheme.ir\/\" title=\"\u0642\u0627\u0644\u0628 \u0648\u0631\u062f\u067e\u0631\u0633\">\u0642\u0627\u0644\u0628 \u0648\u0631\u062f\u067e\u0631\u0633<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Business News of Friday, 5 April 2019 Source: Miriam Osei &#8211; Agyemang 2019-04-05 H.E Tove Degnbol, Ambassador of Denmark to Ghana Ghana and Denmark have today signed a memorandum of understanding to mark the continuation of the strategic Maritime cooperation which began in 2017.
