Bawumia Celebrates Ghanaian Youth –

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has joined Ghanaian youth to celebrate the 2019 International Youth Day.

This year’s celebration at the Ghana country level was held at the Anagkazo Bible School in Mampong, Eastern Region, on Wednesday, August 14, under the auspices of the National Youth Authority.

According to Dr. Bawumia, the Ghanaian youth over the years have made significant contributions towards the development of Ghana.

He stated that it was right and apt that government and the entire Ghanaian society showed greater commitment towards their (youth) welfare.

President Akufo-Addo’s government, he said, has demonstrated through the introduction and implementation of innovative policies to transform Ghana’s education system and make it more accessible to the young people of Ghana.

He disclosed that government will continue the path of helping Ghanaian youth in diverse ways to make life in Ghana better for them.

The Vice President announced during the celebration that later this year, government will begin the piloting of free wifi policy for universities and senior high schools.

“Inspired by the excellent performance of the Mamfe Methodist Girls students who won the 2019 International Robotics Competition in the USA, I challenged the Ghanaian youth to have the mindset of ‘Possibilities’ because they are as good as, and, in many cases even better than their peers in the more advanced countries,” he said.
