 Rhythms on DA Runway launched at African Regent

The 2019 edition of annual fashion and music event, Rhythms on DA Runway was launched Thursday evening.

Held at the rooftop of the African Regent Hotel, the star-studded and colourful launch offered a preview of what this year’s event promises.

Miss Ghana 2019 Queens, Jon Germain, DJ Vyrusky, Okyeame Kwame, Nathaniel Attoh, Coded (4×4), Ophelia Crossland and many others attended the launch hosted by Cookie Tee.

Set for August 31, 2019, Christiansborg (Osu) Castle, this year’s event dubbed ‘The Year of Return’ edition will showcase the beauty of Ghanaian and African fashion.

Organizers say patrons will be connected with artistic and creative designs across the continent during this year’s event.

It will also create an avenue for local and international fashion designers to work, and promote the African continent.

Clothing by designers from Ghana, other African countries and around the world will be on display.

There will be musical performances by Stonebwoy, Pat Thomas, Rex Omar, Obrafour and King Promise. DKB will be on hand to make the audience laugh.

Rhythms on the Runway 2019 will be hosted by Attoh and Nana Aba Anamoah.

Previous edition of the event saw the likes of Shatta Wale, Sandra Ankobiah, PY Addo-Annan, Reggie Rockstone, Funny Face, Bola Ray, D-Black and Jon Germain model collections on the runway.

Rhythms on the Runway 2019 is powered by Nineteen57, founded by Kofi Okyere Darko, the 2017 Exclusive Men of the Year ‘Most Fashionable Man of the Year’ winner.

The high-profile client list of Nineteen57 includes Former Black Stars skipper Stephen Appiah, Michael Essien, Emmanuel Adebayor, Jamaican reggae star Buju Banton and Sonnie Badu.

Darko also won ‘Most Stylish Radio Personality of the Year’ at the 2015 Glitz Style Awards, and nabbed a ‘Male fashion Celebrity Icon of the Year’ at the 2016 Ghana Fashion Awards.
