Arsenal’s acting manager, Freddie Ljungberg, has blamed Nigerian-born, forward, Bukoya Saka, for the third goal in his side’s 3-0 loss to Manchester City on Sunday.
The Gunners were one man down when Belgium playmaker Kevin De Bruyne fired home the third goal for City in the 40th minute as Saka was still preparing to come on to replace Sead Kolasinac who left the pitch injured.
Ljungberg told a post-match press conference that the substitution was over delayed because Saka had a lot of clothes on.
The Swede was also not happy that Kolasinac left the pitch before Saka eventually came on at the 41st minute.
”Obviously, Sead went down, then our player started getting ready. The weather meant he had a lot of clothes on.
“We tried to get him on.
”That’s something we need to learn with young players, for them to get ready quicker.
“But then when you are injured and you are down, you need to stay down until the players are ready so we can make the change.”
De Bruyne scored two and set up the third for Raheem Sterling to condemn Arsenal to another defeat.
