Hiawu-Besease,
(Ash), Dec. 06, GNA – A total of one thousand (1000) pupils from three basic
schools in the Hiawu-Besease electoral area in the Atwima-Nwabiagya South
Municipality have been registered onto the National Health Insurance Scheme
(NHIS) free of charge.

It was sponsored by
an aspiring assembly member for the electoral area, Reverend Bismark Antwi
Agyei.

The pupils were from
the Ahodwo R/C, Hiawu-Besease M/A, and Methodist junior high schools.

Rev. Agyei told the
Ghana News Agency that, the gesture was part of his assistance towards the
promotion of health and other social interventions to improve the lives of the
people in the community.

He said plans were
ongoing to collaborate with an NGO to construct an ICT laboratory for schools
in the community and also upgrade the CHPS compound into a clinic.

Rev. Agyei appealed
to the government to complete a road project in the area which had been
abandoned for some time now.
