Some Ghanaians couldn’t believe the news of popular Chinese actor Jet Li arriving in Ghana together with former Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-Moon and business tycoon, Jack Ma.
They paid separate courtesy calls on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House after arriving on Friday, November 15, 2019.
Reports indicated that they were billed to speak at the maiden edition of the Africa Netpreneurship Summit, which was held at the Accra International Conference, on Saturday.
The news of their arrival, particularly with regards to renowned actor Jet Li, traveled faster than imagined because many didn’t know why he was part of the visit.
Many Ghanaians took to their social media pages, especially Twitter to share their thoughts.
Meanwhile, presidential staffer, Gabby Otchere-Darko used the medium to answer why these personalities made the decision to visit the country.
He posted: “In China last year, President Akufo-Addo extended an invitation to Jack Ma to visit and invest in Ghana. This week that invitation was honoured and his comments about Ghana are most encouraging.”
