Sogakope (VR), Nov. 18, GNA – The chiefs and
people of Agave Avegorme in the South Tongu District of the Volta Region have
enstooled two chiefs for the Agave traditional area.

Police Inspector Joseph Amedoko of the Ghana
Police Service was enstooled under the stool name Torgbe Kavi VI with Mr.
Emmanuel Kwesi Kubi, a businessman, also enstooled Awafia Ahadzie IV.

The two chiefs were outdoored and introduced
to the chiefs, queenmothers and elders of the area at a colourful ceremony held
at Agave Avegorme amidst libation, singing and dancing and slaughtering of
sheep as part of rituals to cement the enstoolment.

Mr. Francis Kavi, Secretary to the Stool,
told Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the kingmakers were happy that the vacancies
had been filled after 17years.

The chiefs in a statement thanked the
elders, the leaders of the Agave Traditional area and the Avegorme community
for the confidence reposed in them and asked for unity and support for the
development of the Agave Avegorme community.

They swore an oath of allegiance to the
chiefs and elders of Agave Traditional area.

An opinion leader said, “We were just living
like a river without fish after the death of our Chief, no leader, nobody to
report our grievances to, so we are happy those days are now over.”
