The Upper East Regional Minister, Tangoba Abayage, has said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is interested in making people go without formal education so that they can take advantage of their ignorance.

Addressing students and members of the Tertiary Students Confederation (TESCON) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) drawn from all the tertiary institutions in the Upper East Region at a symposium in Bolgatanga, the minister said, “The NDC takes advantage of the ignorance of people for their political fortunes. Very soon this will be over because the youth they have been deceiving will be able to analyse the campaign promises and policies.”

The TESCON @ 20 celebrations is under the general theme: “Revamping, revitalizing and repositioning our field machinery for victory 2020: TESCON beyond campus.”

“The NDC has no message and has made it a point to attack our policies and programmes. They keep saying they are not seeing whatever government is doing; let them continue. I am happy Ghanaians are seeing the good works this government is doing,” she said.

According to her, NDC has never been happy with the Free Senior High School (SHS) simply because they thrive when people are ignorant and with the Free SHS, and as more people get the opportunities to be educated, the sustainability of their tricks is in danger.

The Upper East Regional Chairman of the NPP, Anthony Namoo, urged the TESCON members across the Upper East Region and the entire country to help in spreading the need for the election of the municipal, metropolitan and district chief executives.

As part of the symposium, there was leadership training for the leaders and other members of TESCON, which was addressed by some regional and national executives of the NPP.

The party also presented motorbikes to the Youth Wings in the 15 constituencies in the Upper East Region.
