Hundreds of family, friends and sympathisers converged on the Alajo Park on Sunday, November 10 to observe the final funeral rites of the Deputy National Chief Imam, Sheikh Ahmad Kamaludeen, who passed away in September and was buried at the Awudome Cemetery in Accra.

He was 103 when he died.

Sunday’s ceremony, known as ‘Aduwa,’ which was officiated by the spokesperson for the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Aremeyaw Shuaib, is in line with Islamic Tradition as a ceremony held forty days after one passes.

The ‘Aduwa’ for the late Deputy National Chief Imam had in attendance the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhuh Shaributu as well as dignitaries across the political divide.

Vice President, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia and the National National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhuh Shaributu.

Hundreds of students of the late cleric were also present to honour their dear teacher.

Sheikh Ahmad was survived by three wives and 7 children.

The one-week observance of the passing of the late Imam’s brother simultaneously took place at Sunday’s ceremony.

Sheikh Kamauleen was an Islamic Cleric and the National Chief Imam’s childhood best friend and classmate.

He has been recognized in the West African Sub-region as one of the most learned Islamic teachers and clerics.
