Student In Court For Removing Man’s Tooth Over Girlfriend

Chiagozie Uzor, 21 was arraigned before an Ebute Meta Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State on Friday for allegedly plucking out a man’s tooth because of his girlfriend.

Uzor, was charged with conspiracy, assault and breach of the peace but he, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.

According to the Prosecutor while speaking in court, Insp. Kehinde Olatunde, the defendant committed the offences on Aug. 11, at 9.30p.m., on Railway Line, near Mainland Hotel, Ebute Meta.

Uzor was said to have kicked out the complainant, Onyedika Alike’s front tooth, bitting him on the neck, and causing him serious injuries.

“The defendant accused the complainant’s girlfriend of insulting him and his brother and took out the anger on him,” he said.

The Magistrate, M.A. Ajiferuke, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties each in like sum and adjourned the case until Sept. 30 for mention.
