John Dramani Mahama, former President of Ghana
The Volta Regional Caucus of the National Democratic Congress is convinced that former President John Dramani Mahama will be given a second chance to govern Ghana after the 2020 elections to save suffering citizens from the current government.
In their congratulatory message to the former President following his victory in the recent presidential primary elections of the NDC, members of the Volta Caucus believe the flagbearer elect will also emerge victorious in the upcoming general elections just as he did at the party level.
According to them, “The resounding endorsement is a clear demonstration of the confidence reposed in him by the rank and file of our beloved party.”
They urged all party members to unite and work together for the party to be voted back into power in order to save Ghanaians from the “wanton and unprecedented corruption, economic hardships, family, friends and clans government, etc, that we are witnessing under the misrule of President Akufo-Addo”.

VOLTA CAUCUS CONGRATULATES THE FLAGBEARER-ELECT OF THE NDC, HE. JOHN D. MAHAMA
The Volta Caucus wishes to extend its message of congratulations to the former president and flag bearer-elect of the NDC, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama having won the just ended primaries.
The resounding endorsement is a clear demonstration of the confidence reposed in him by the rank and file of our beloved party, a trust we know he so much cherish and will diligently not take for granted.
The internal race is over, the contest has ended and the clarion call by His Excellency to all and sundry to get aboard the train is a timely pronouncement of a Statesman and a worthy sportsman. There are no losers, neither are there any winners, the NDC emerged victorious in the end. The major “battle” lays ahead and it is only with a united front, common purpose and goal that it can be achieved. Kudos to all other contestants for the magnanimity in which they conceded defeat and readily made known their readiness to avail themselves at the disposal of the party.
To our hundreds of thousands of delegates across the over 275 constituencies who patiently and peacefully took part in the exercise, you have all once again demonstrated to the world how law abiding, peaceful and noble we are as a party.
The success of the process couldn’t have been mentioned without thanking the Ghana Police Service, once again the NDC demonstrated its trust in the Police Service to discharge their mandate effectively and efficiently if left to independently do so without any interference from any vigilante group as was the case not long ago at Ayawaso West Wuogon. We never used any private or internal security and the entire electoral process was so smooth, kudos to the police and members once again for conducting themselves. This is a victory for the NDC.
The Volta Caucus would like to pledge its unflinching commitment to our flagbearer, as we begin the canvassing process to share with the nation his vision for the country.
The Volta Caucus shall at all times place at the disposal of His Excellency, our collective capabilities to ensure that the journey into the 2020 elections turns out positive for the National Democratic Congress and HE. John Dramani Mahama, a man of valour.
This is also the moment to extend an olive branch to all and sundry, let us forge ahead together and victory shall surely be assured because once we remain stronger together, the victory is possible together.
