The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) is calling on entrepreneurs to form business clusters as a way of boosting production capacity.

At the AGI’s Women’s Entrepreneurship Breakfast Meeting in Ho, the Volta Regional capital; owners of start-ups and small-scale enterprises as well as entrepreneurs were impressed upon to take the internet and its vibrant social media platforms seriously in promoting their products and services to locals and foreigners.

Clustering provides easy access to funding, enables standard pricing and stimulates ideas for improved products, Madam Lucy Tenkorang, Vice Chairperson of the Volta/Eastern Branch of the AGI noted. She challenged entrepreneurs to be creative with product packaging and branding to have a competitive advantage.

Mr. Theophilus Gadzanku, a former AGI Regional Chairman submitted risks were high in one-man businesses more so for women entrepreneurs recommending clustering as a way to find feet in the turbulent business world.

He observed Government’s One District One Factory Initiative could only be achievable with the active participation of entrepreneurs urging businesses to pool resources to drive the initiative.

The Ministry of Trade, the National Board of Small Scale Industries and the Ghana Export Promotion Centre were all in session.
