Ghana’s wing back, Kwadwo Asamoah, has been named in South Africa’s version of Africa’s Finest XI team of 2018.

The 30-year-old Inter Milan star was the only Ghanaian to have made it to the finest Africa team which was voted by 23 Bafana Bafana stars.

Thomas Partey who made it to the Continent’s finest XI squad did not find a place in the team of South Africa’s version as he was replaced by Nigeria’s Victor Moses in midfield.

Unlike Kwadwo Asamoah who was preferred over Mehdi Benatia in the official CAF list, Kalidou Koulibaly, Eric Bailly and Sergei Aurier were all maintained.

They made five changes to the CAF list which included Mamelodi Sundowns shot-stopper, Denis Onyango, for Kaiser Chiefs goalie, Itumeleng Khune, while Strasbourg’s Lebo Mothiba and Chiefs’ Khama Billiat were preferred over CAF’s Sadio Mane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Riyad Mahrez and Naby Keita were their preferred choice for midfield with Egyptian and Liverpool star, Mohamed Salah also keeping his position for the striking option.

The list have Itumeleng Khune as the goalkeeper, Kalidou Koulibaly, Eric Bailly and Serge Aurier and Ghana wing-back Kwadwo Asamoah for the defense, the midfield role was handed over to Riyad Mahrez, Naby Keita and Victor Moses with the attackers going to Lebo Mothiba, Khama Billiat and Mohamed Salah.
