{"id":469787,"date":"2018-03-05T07:21:20","date_gmt":"2018-03-05T07:21:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2018\/03\/05\/ive-learnt-much-lesson-im-sorry-obiri-boahen-apologizes-for-reckless-talk\/"},"modified":"2018-03-05T07:21:20","modified_gmt":"2018-03-05T07:21:20","slug":"ive-learnt-much-lesson-im-sorry-obiri-boahen-apologizes-for-reckless-talk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2018\/03\/05\/ive-learnt-much-lesson-im-sorry-obiri-boahen-apologizes-for-reckless-talk\/","title":{"rendered":"I&#8217;ve learnt much lesson&#8230;I&#8217;m sorry &#8211; Obiri Boahen apologizes for &#8216;reckless talk&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Nana-Obiri-Boahene-475x267.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"mashsb-container mashsb-main mashsb-stretched\"> <\/aside>\n<p>The Deputy General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen, has rendered an unqualified apology to the President and leadership of the party.<\/p>\n<p>The NPP Deputy Scribe in an audio in a conversation with a known NDC activist based in USA which has gone viral on social media is heard claiming that the Presidency gave the party Gh\u00a250 billion to conduct the party\u2019s 2017 National Annual Delegates Conference in Cape Coast, where various proposals were made for amendments to the party\u2019s constitution.<\/p>\n<p>Nana Obiri Boahen was further heard lamenting about how he was given a paltry GH\u00a25,000 as a member of the Resolution Committee out of the GH\u00a250 billion.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>\u201cWhen we were going to Cape Coast the other time, I was given GH\u00a23,000 as a member of the Resolution Committee and an additional GH\u00a22,000 for fuel. Meanwhile, the Flagstaff House gave the party an amount of GH\u00a250 billion,<\/em>\u201d Boahen alleged.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>He also spoke about how unfairly he\u2019s being treated by the party as he has no official vehicle, never received any salary and has also not been awarded any contract from any of the Ministries.<\/p>\n<p>But the NPP, in a statement, said the Gh\u00a250 billion claim is a \u201cpalpable falsehood\u201d and has referred the matter to the Steering Committee.<\/p>\n<p>However, before the Steering Committee concludes its probe, the maverick Deputy General Secretary has come out to apologise profoundly for his \u201cindiscretion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRespectfully, I am by this letter expressing my profound apology to the President, the Vice President, the Chief of Staff, the Steering Committee, the National Executives Committee, the National Council of the New Patriotic Party and every member of the New Patriotic Party for my indiscretion,\u201d wrote Mr. Boahen in a letter of apology sighted by Kasapafmonline.com.<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cI have learnt much lessons from this unfortunate incident, from this heavily edited, secretly recorded and intentionally mutilated audio recording or cassette; I vow not to find myself under such circumstances again.
