Wor-Lumor Laweh Tsuru, who made the call at a news conference held at Nungua on Friday, said the demolition has led to over 100 structures being destroyed. He said the piece of land where the demolition is taking place was given to the Nungua Stool as far back as 2009 under the former President John Agyekum Kufuor\u2019s regime.<\/p>\n<p>It was based on a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between the Nungua Stool and Government.<\/p>\n<p>He said the MOU was under Residential Leasehold of 99 years, which commenced from April 16, 2009 and would end on April 15, 2108.<\/p>\n<p>This was revealed in a document titled: \u201cPresident of the Republic of Ghana and Nungua Stool: Residential Lease in respect of a piece of land at Nungua Farms \u2013 Nungua,\u201d and copied to the media.<\/p>\n<p>Wor-Lumor Laweh Tsuru said the MOU brought about cordial relationship between the traditional leaders and the government since the government could not do anything without informing them as the custodians of the land.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe expect the Minister of Food and Agriculture, Mr Owusu Afriyie Akoto to do same by building upon the MOU for mutual respect to prevail,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He said during the demolishing exercise by the police last Sunday he delegated one of his elders, Lumor Boi Mogya to find out what was happening, but he was arrested by the police and handcuffed.<\/p>\n<p>He said the action of the police was an affront to their custom, tradition and culture since his representative was not a criminal and he did nothing wrong to be portrayed as a criminal to the world.<\/p>\n<p>Wor-Lumor Laweh said we are in democratic dispensation and no one has the right to take the law into his own hands and act arbitrarily, saying \u201cas the custodian of the land it is right for him to be informed of the action being taken in the area.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He called on the Government and by extension the IGP to take immediate steps to avert any unforeseen situation as the chiefs also do their part for amicable resolution of the issue.<\/p>\n<p><!-- uploaded by: 33 updated by: 33 --><\/p>\n<p><!-- Start of html generated by this->footer() -->\n<\/div>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a style=\"display:none\" rel=\"follow\" href=\"http:\/\/megatheme.ir\/\" title=\"\u0642\u0627\u0644\u0628 \u0648\u0631\u062f\u067e\u0631\u0633\">\u0642\u0627\u0644\u0628 \u0648\u0631\u062f\u067e\u0631\u0633<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>General News of Sunday, 4 March 2018 Source: ghananewsagency.org 2018-03-04 The Gborbu Wulomo has asked government to intervene in the ongoing demolition exercise Wor-Lumor Konor Borketey Laweh Tsuru, the Gborbu Wulomo (Shitse) of the Ga State, has called for an immediate intervention by government in the ongoing demolition exercise around the Nungua Farms.
