The list which was released on March 1, 2018 has 23 rich businessmen on the continent. <\/p>\n<p>The list is predominantly dominated by South Africans, Egyptians and Nigerians. However, Nigerian businessman, Aliko Dangote sits on top. <\/p>\n<p>He is the founder and chairman of Dangote Cement, the continent&#8217;s largest cement producer. <\/p>\n<p>He owns nearly 88% of publicly-traded Dangote Cement through a holding company. <\/p>\n<p>Dangote Cement produces 44 million metric tons annually and plans to increase its output 33% by 2020. <\/p>\n<p>Dangote also owns stakes in publicly-traded salt, sugar and flour manufacturing companies.<\/p>\n<p>Dangote is worth $12.2 B.
