Human Resources Management is a fast-growing profession in Ghana with many aspiring young talents. Over the years, there has been increasing demand from businesses for HR professionals to be real enablers of business growth,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot many HR professionals in the country possess the expected experiential knowledge, skills and competencies by modern-day businesses to tackle some of the key issues. Hence the need for a programme like this.<\/p>\n<p>The President of IHRMP, Edward Kwarpong advised the mentees to take advantage of the opportunity they had been given as their \u201ccontinued stay in the pool of mentorship depends on performance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the programme was necessary because of the lack of many \u201cwell-structured mentoring and coaching programmes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He assured that Insitute was committed to the collaboration with Tullow to ensure the sustainability of the programme and provided mentors to train the mentees.<\/p>\n<p>He thanked Tullow for the \u201cgreat gesture\u201d to give back to the HR community. \u201cMay others be touched to do similar\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Outgoing Managing Director of Tullow, Charles Darko also advised the mentees to learn as much as they could from the seasoned practitioners during the programme.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s one thing to be selected and another to make something of it\u2026The difference between the mentees is what they use what they learn from the sessions for,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the \u201cbusiness environment is becoming more complex\u201d and \u201cso much has changed in terms of tech,\u201d adding that the practitioners must learn how to tap into that change as \u201cwhether you like it or not, change will happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Programme<\/p>\n<p>25 mentees were selected from a total of 40 HR professionals who applied for the programme which will take place in 12 separate sessions.<\/p>\n<p>Each candidate will be assigned a senior HR professional as a mentor with the mentees having one-on-one quarterly mentoring sessions from their assigned mentors in addition to the monthly capacity-building sessions.<\/p>\n<p>Experts including other HR Star Award winners, will be invited to lead discussions on topics like \u201cBusiness expectations of HR professionals\u201d, \u201cBuilding effective engagement strategies\u201d \u201cBeing a skilled influencer and communicator\u201d, \u201cBeing an agent of change in your organization\u201d, \u201cDealing with difficult conversations\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><!-- uploaded by: 33 updated by: 33 --><\/p>\n<p><!-- Start of html generated by this->footer() -->\n<\/div>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a style=\"display:none\" rel=\"follow\" href=\"http:\/\/megatheme.ir\/\" title=\"\u0642\u0627\u0644\u0628 \u0648\u0631\u062f\u067e\u0631\u0633\">\u0642\u0627\u0644\u0628 \u0648\u0631\u062f\u067e\u0631\u0633<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Business News of Friday, 23 February 2018 Source: citifmonline.com 2018-02-23 The Mentors and Mentees of the HR Mentoring Programme Tullow Oil Ghana, in collaboration with the Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners (IHRMP), have launched an HR Mentoring Programme in Accra.
