{"id":465418,"date":"2018-02-18T20:00:28","date_gmt":"2018-02-18T20:00:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2018\/02\/18\/moys-and-africa-agribusiness-incubators-network-hold-talks-on-job-creations\/"},"modified":"2018-02-18T20:00:28","modified_gmt":"2018-02-18T20:00:28","slug":"moys-and-africa-agribusiness-incubators-network-hold-talks-on-job-creations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2018\/02\/18\/moys-and-africa-agribusiness-incubators-network-hold-talks-on-job-creations\/","title":{"rendered":"MOYS and Africa Agribusiness Incubators Network hold talks on job creations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"medsection1\">\n<!-- End of html generated by this->header() --><\/p>\n<p class=\"floatLeft\">Sports News of Sunday, 18 February 2018<\/p>\n<p class=\"floatRight\"><strong>Source: <\/strong>ghananewsagency.org<\/p>\n<p>2018-02-18<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-left\">\n<p class=\"article-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/58998213.295.jpg\" alt=\"Isaac Asiamah 3\" title=\"Isaac Asiamah 3\" width=\"295\" height=\"197\" \/><span class=\"image_caption\"><span>Isaac Kwame Asiamah, Minister of Youth and Sports<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"noPrint\">\n<div id=\"537626303\" style=\"width:300;height:250;margin:0;padding:0\">\n<p>\t\t  <noscript><iframe loading=\"lazy\" id=\"b2ad7fa7fd\" name=\"b2ad7fa7fd\" src=\"http:\/\/ghanaweb-d.openx.net\/w\/1.0\/afr?auid=537626303&amp;cb=151125813921649\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\"><a href=\"\/\/ghanaweb-d.openx.net\/w\/1.0\/rc?cs=b2ad7fa7fd&amp;cb=151125813921649\"><\/p>\n<p>\t\t  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/1518984028_644_ai\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/iframe><\/noscript><\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"clear:right\">Mr. Isaac Kwame Asiamah, Minister of Youth and Sports (MOYS) has held discussions with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Africa Agrobusiness Incubators Network, Dr. Alex Ariho over job creation avenues and strategies of youth development.<\/p>\n<p>Together with the Country Director of the Canadian Feed The Children (CFTC), Madam Susan Watkins, the discussions focused on areas MOYS can explore to enhance job creation and mobilize resources to champion the agenda.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Ariho said there is a missing link between academia and the job industry, stressing that the gap must be bridged to create a direct job pool for the growing youth and to increase Gross Domestic Product (GDP).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere has always been a huge gap between academia and the practical industry and it is necessary that the gap is bridged to create more jobs in the economy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe future of this country is the youth and getting them into the mainstream industry is our major objective at AAIN,&#8221; Dr. Ariho noted.<\/p>\n<p>The interaction centered on a joint partnership towards job and employment creation for women and youth in Ghana through mentorship, business skills development and enterprise development through incubation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are ready to partner the Youth and Sports Ministry to ensure domestic private sector development and creation of new businesses by increasing the number of entrepreneurs in Ghana through agribusiness incubation,\u201d Dr. Ariho added.<\/p>\n<p>On her part, Madam Susan Watkins expressed delight at the birth of the relationship among the three organizations emphasizing her outfit\u2019s commitment to continue their support for women and children in deprived communities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe (CFTC) have been operating in Ghana for close to 18 years now and we are currently in the three northern regions, where we have created a mentorship platform to empower women in job creation so that they can feed their families.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInitially, we provided the feeding for the children but we have now advanced to aiding the women to have their own profession.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are also committed to making this union a reality,\u201d Madam Watkins noted.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative will be done in phases starting with northern Ghana where CFTC have done tremendous work towards women empowerment and have now forged partnership with AAIN to advance this agenda moving forward. <\/p>\n<p>The minister said, job creation has been a major challenge for the country and the intervention of AAIN and CFTC will be hugely welcomed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn behalf of the Ministry, I thank you for making this meeting possible and the commitment you have shown.
