The law enforcement agencies will crack down very hard on all those who would disturb the peace of our nation,\u201d he warned Thursday February 8, 2018 during his second State of the Nation Address (SONA).<\/p>\n<p>The President\u2019s tough words come days after he suspended the Upper West regional Minister Sulemana Alhassan for allegedly shielding some New Patriotic Party (NPP) thugs who invaded the regional office of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) and attacked some staff of the office.<\/p>\n<p>Delivering the address, President Akufo-Addo also pledged to resource the Ghana Police Service to effectively do their job.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, he said, an initial amount of GH\u00a2800 million is being made available to procure and supply, within the next six months, critical, modern policing equipment and gadgets to enhance the capacity of the police to enforce law and order.<\/p>\n<p>Again, he posited as part of the government\u2019s medium to long-term strategy \u201cwe will purchase drones and helicopters to assist the police combat violent and environmental crime.
