{"id":460314,"date":"2018-02-01T01:11:04","date_gmt":"2018-02-01T01:11:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2018\/02\/01\/accra-brewery-limited-acquires-multi-million-dollar-plant\/"},"modified":"2018-02-01T01:11:04","modified_gmt":"2018-02-01T01:11:04","slug":"accra-brewery-limited-acquires-multi-million-dollar-plant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2018\/02\/01\/accra-brewery-limited-acquires-multi-million-dollar-plant\/","title":{"rendered":"Accra Brewery Limited acquires multi- million-dollar plant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"medsection1\">\n<!-- End of html generated by this->header() --><\/p>\n<p class=\"floatLeft\">Business News of Wednesday, 31 January 2018<\/p>\n<p class=\"floatRight\"><strong>Source: <\/strong>ghananewsagency.org<\/p>\n<p>2018-01-31<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-left\">\n<p class=\"article-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/47200034.295.jpg\" alt=\"ABL Inagurates Dollar Million \" title=\"ABL Inagurates Dollar Million \" width=\"295\" height=\"198\" \/><span class=\"image_caption\"><span>The plant has the capacity to produce over 40,000 bottles of beverages daily<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"noPrint\">\n<div id=\"537626303\" style=\"width:300;height:250;margin:0;padding:0\">\n<p>\t\t  <noscript><iframe loading=\"lazy\" id=\"b2ad7fa7fd\" name=\"b2ad7fa7fd\" src=\"http:\/\/ghanaweb-d.openx.net\/w\/1.0\/afr?auid=537626303&amp;cb=151125817929577\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\"><a href=\"\/\/ghanaweb-d.openx.net\/w\/1.0\/rc?cs=b2ad7fa7fd&amp;cb=151125817929577\"><\/p>\n<p>\t\t  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/1517447464_463_ai\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/iframe><\/noscript><\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"clear:right\"> The Accra Brewery Limited (ABL), one of the largest and leading breweries in Ghana has acquired a 25 million-dollar plant to boost the production of varieties of non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages.<\/p>\n<p>The plant has the capacity to produce over 40,000 bottles of beverages daily.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the media in Accra on Wednesday after a familiarisation tour at the facility, Ms Adowoa Arthur, ABL Legal and Corporate Affairs Director, said the company would inaugurate the equipment by mid-year to augment its operations.<\/p>\n<p>The tour was also to afford journalist the opportunity to interact with management and understand the operations of ABL, now a subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch (AB) InBev, based in Belgium one of the World\u2019s leading brewer.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Arthur explained that the new plant, equipped with modern technology gives the company the operational ability to introduce more brands to satisfy consumers.<\/p>\n<p>According to her, the new facility has modern robotics for cleaning bottles, designing and labelling products among others.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith the new equipment, we are able to increase our production levels to meet the demands of our consumers,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>Touching on the Food and Drugs Authority\u2019s (FDA) ban on advertisements on alcoholic beverages, Ms Arthur said ABL was in compliance with that the directives.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, she said her company was still holding discussions with the FDA and other retailers on handling and consumption of their products.<\/p>\n<p>She said there were ongoing discussions with the authority and \u201cwe are working with the timeline as proposed by the authority, hence, if there are any setbacks, management would speak directly with them but as at now a total ban on our products is not something that is working\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>On taxes, the ABL Legal and Corporate Affairs Director said management has complied with all existing taxes and would comply with others such as the excise stamp tax.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Joscelyne Ahiable, the Communications Manager, ABL said in 2016, a new company;
