So most of the ministers who got appointment, it was a form of compensation given them by the President, so that they can also eat and recoup whatever they spent on him. If this were not the fact behind the appointment of 110 ministers, there\u2019s no way President would have formed such a large government. He himself knows from his days as Foreign Affairs Minister and Attorney General that Ghana doesn\u2019t need more than 90 ministers.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThis appointment amounts to depleting the public purse, but because of the contributions made by people towards the President\u2019s campaign of which he compiled a list of contributors, under the circumstance, the President hands were tied and could not appoint less than this number. Some of us are all for the reduction in number of the ministers because it costs the country a lot to pay them.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><!--[if lt IE 9]><![endif]--><audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-130936-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"http:\/\/kasapafmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Ministers-110-.mp3?_=1\"\/><a href=\"http:\/\/kasapafmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Ministers-110-.mp3\">http:\/\/kasapafmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Ministers-110-.mp3<\/a><\/audio><\/p>\n<p>The state will pay GHS20, 211, 048 per annum as salaries for President Nana Akufo-Addo\u2019s ministers and their deputies.<\/p>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">\n<p>\u00a0This implies that at the end of the four-year mandate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, the country would have spent a total amount of GHS 80, 844, 192 on salaries alone.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The 110 ministers comprise 50 substantive ministers, including regional ministers, and 60 deputies.<\/p>\n<p>The summary of the salary estimates was based on figures from a recommendation in a report of Presidential Committee on Emoluments signed by Prof Dora Francisca Edua-Buandoh, which announced a 10 per cent raise from January 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Below is the list of Article 71 office holders and their respective salaries per the 10% raise:<\/p>\n<p>Vice President \u2013 GH\u00a2 20,529<\/p>\n<p>Chief Justice \u2013 GH\u00a217,107<\/p>\n<p>Speaker of Parliament \u2013 GH\u00a2 17,791<\/p>\n<p>Cabinet Minister (MP) \u2013 GH\u00a216,423<\/p>\n<p>Cabinet Minster (Non MP) \u2013 GH\u00a2 16,195<\/p>\n<p>Minister of State (MP) \u2013 GH\u00a2 15,967<\/p>\n<p>Minister of State (Non MP) \u2013 GH\u00a2 15,739<\/p>\n<p>Regional Minister (MP) \u2013 GH\u00a2 15,967<\/p>\n<p>Regional Minister (Non-MP) \u2013 GH\u00a215,511<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Minster (MP) \u2013 GH\u00a2 14,826<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Regional Minister (MP) \u2013 GH\u00a214,598<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Minister (Non-MP) \u2013 GH\u00a2 14,369<\/p>\n<p>Dep.
