Atiku may likely not enter the U.S anytime soon

Following a recent statement by the People’s Democratic Party’s presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, it is likely he won’t be visiting the United States, any time from now.

Atiku’s inability to visit America for many years, after an alleged indictment in a fraud case has whipped up sentiments over time. It came to a brew recently, after the former vice President won the PDP ticket to represent it, in next year’s presidential election.

However, during an interview with the Hausa service of the Voice of America, lately, Atiku was heard saying “What will I even go to do in America.”

Although, the Director General of the Atiku campaign organisation, Gbenga Daniel, in November said officials of the United States, have hinted that Atiku had gotten a nod for a U.S. visa.

The former Ogun state Governor made this known, in an interview on Channels Television programme, Politics Today.

“I can also confirm to you that in last few days that there have been signals from the American officials that he (Atiku) should indeed come forward so he can be granted a visa. So between you and I, all the issues are perception.”
