Manchester United began life without their former manager, Jose Mourinho, in a thrilling fashion as they humiliated Cardiff by beating them 5-1 in the domestic league on Saturday. It became the first time the Red Devils scored five goals in the domestic league since their legendary manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, drew 5-5 with Westbrom in his last match in charge.

One player who is still relishing the moment is Luke Shaw as the Englishman was on song during the pulsating encounter which saw the Red Devils played with so much cinfidence and fluidity.

The former Southampton defender revealed when quizzed by journalists ahead of their first home match against Huddersfield since Mourinho departed that he is looking forward to the atmosphere at the Theatre of dreams and wants the fans to keep supporting them as they are still in transition.

What he said:

Their support gives us that extra push and obviously it was very nice for them to have five goals. We haven’t done that for a while now.

“The fans are always really good, no matter where we go or what the result is. They’ve always been with us throughout the whole 90 minutes and hopefully they enjoyed the game as much as we did.

”The most important thing is we got the three points and obviously we look forward now to the next game.
