Sam Pyne roasts MFWA’s Braimah for criticizing Akufo-Addo’s Presidential encounter

The Ashanti Regional Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Samuel Pyne, has fired a salvo at the Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), Sulemana Braimah, for criticizing President Akufo-Addo’s media encounter.

Samuel Pyne described as unfair the continuous negative criticisms of the government, especially from Sulemana Braimah.

“Comments from Sulemana Braimah is not shocking at all. He has not even said anything good about this government and Akufo-Addo and so his recent comment on the presidential encounter is not surprised. He is always negative things about Akufo-Addo,” he noted.

Samuel Pyne was speaking on Adom FM’s Morning Show “Dwaso Nsem” Thursday.

Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), Sulemana Braimah, has said the President’s meeting with the media on Wednesday is the worst since the engagement was introduced.

He said the event could better be described as President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s address to the nation, not a media encounter.

“Today’s encounter cannot be called Presidential and media encounter because what happened was, maybe the President was looking for a way to address the nation and they are branding it as meet the press because the entire meeting was about 90 minutes and what my team at the MFWA followed saw the President using about 71 minutes of the time and the entire questions all the journalists asked was 19 minutes” he said.

But the Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NPP said claims that Wednesday’s event at the Jubilee House is the worst are only misplaced.

To Sam Pyne, President Akufo-Addo should rather be commended for meeting the media because he is not mandated by the Constitution to do so.
