Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia has suggested that, although the NPP government is making strides in developing the country, it is failing to properly communicate its achievements over the last two years to Ghanaians.

According to the Vice President, government has performed better than any other government in its first two years.

Speaking at a meeting with Ambassadors and High Commissioners in Accra, Dr. Bawumia said government’s communication outfit must tell the good stories of the Akufo Addo government.

“There is a very good account of what we have done. But I think sometimes we are not communicating as well to understand what really we have done. It is a feeling we all need to take responsibility for.”

“If you look at what we inherited and what we have done today, it is very significant, he added.

NPP communicators will bridge gap between gov’t and the people – Buabeng Asamoah

The newly unveiled Communications Director of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Buabeng Asamoah, has said he will lead a team of communicators that will serve as a link between government and the people.

Speaking to Citi News, the Adentan MP said his team will ensure the government and the people understand each other at all times.

“I believe with that team working strictly with them at the party headquarters and government, will be able to gather the interest of Ghanaians.”

“It is important that Ghanaians appreciate what government does and it is important that government receives by way of quality feedback for Ghanaians to see what government does and what they expect from government”, he added.

Nana Addo has trampled on expectations of Ghanaians – Kwakye Ofosu

A former deputy Communications Minister in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government of failing to live up to the expectations of Ghanaians.

He believes that Ghanaians’ disappointment in the performance of the government will greatly affect the NPP’s chances of retaining power in 2020.

“People did not vote for President Akufo Addo for fun. It was not because they loved him excessively, they had expectations of him. So those expectations have not been met, he’s trampled on people’s expectations. I’m not sure that people would gleefully go and vote for him after he has disappointed them.”
