Former President, John Dramani Mahama says he will always be truthful to Ghanaians and not engage in empty promises.

Addressing party supporters and the media at the Trade Fair Centre at La, in Accra, Mr Mahama said he would not engage in empty promises, sloganeering, populism, convenient lies and grand deception to win political power.

“We have learnt our lessons and we promise Ghanaians we will do even better I unlike our opponents; I will not engage in empty promises to win power,” he said.

He added that though he may not always say what Ghanaians want to hear, he will always speak the truth.

He believes every government faces challenges and the best way to deal with such challenges is to be honest with Ghanaians.

“I John Mahama holds Ghanaians in such respect that I will never lie and pretend to them that the situation is otherwise. I don’t promise,I prove and I deliver,” he stated.

Mr Mahama further stated that when he is chosen by the party, the road towards a better Ghana will gather fresh momentum as the youth will be given hope.

Aside John Mahama, Alban Sumani Bagbin, Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament and Professor Joshua Alabi, Former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), have filed their nomination papers to contest for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential primaries.
