Elective Congress postponed amid court case

Ghana Athletics Association: Elective Congress postponed amid court case

The Ghana Athletics Association has postponed its upcoming elective Congress originally scheduled to come off tomorrow in Tamale, after former GAA President George Lutterodt sought a court injunction on the process.

Lutterodt and 15 others asked an Accra High Court to stop the GAA from going ahead with the election until their grievances are heard.

The plaintiffs claim the GAA is trying to manipulate the electoral process to favor certain candidates.

With the injunction petition set to be heard on 20th December, the GAA now says the election will be held on the 22nd December.

Lutterodt is contesting for the position of president, after losing the seat to Professor Francis Dodoo 8 years ago.
