The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has sealed the deal with the Qatar Football Association (QFA) to stage the 2018 Total Super Cup in the Asian country.

CAF President Ahmad Ahmad signed the historic seal with his Qatari FA boss Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed al-Thani on Friday for the final to be staged in Doha.

The signing of the deal confirms that the 2018 African Super Cup will be played in Qatar, moving away from Africa for the first time.

The deal was signed after the decision was taken by the CAF Executive Committee for the match between Esperance of Tunisia and Moroccan side Raja Casablanca.

The Super Cup is is the final between club cup champions – winner of the elite CAF Champions League and the second-tier Confederation Cup.

Esperance won their third Champions League title beating eight-time champions Al Ahly of Egypt.

Whiles Raja dispatched Congolese side AS Vita to their second Confederation Cup triumph – both matches were played over two legs.

The match is traditionally played at the home of the Champions League winners, although it has previously been played elsewhere in Africa.

Qatar will host the 2022 Fifa World Cup.
