Agyarko 3rd WifeThe Agyarko family

At a time when two known widows of the late Member of Parliament(MP) for Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, Emmanuel Agyarko are “fighting” to replace him in parliament, MyNewsGh.com has confirmed the existence of a third wife, Eva Isabella Agyarko with whom the late has a child.

This comes at a time when scores of Ayawaso West Wuogon New Patriotic Party (NPP) footsoldiers are mounting pressure on the known widows of the late Emmanuel Agyarko, Lydia Alhassan, and Josephine Baiden to contest to replace him on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party as MyNewsGh.com filed yesterday.

So far, three wives have been confirmed two widows Lydia Alhassan Agyarko and Josephine Baiden Agyarko who sources say are unofficially not interested in replacing their late husband but pressure is mounting on them all to take that into consideration.

But a statement from Lydia Alhassan, she stated that she is not interested in the upcoming by-election in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency.

Read the full text of the statement below;

I wish to clear the air and state that I have not expressed interest in the upcoming by-election in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency.

I have remained in a deep state of shock and mourning following the sudden demise of the father of the seven beautiful children of EK, five of which I bore with him.

I believe I can say same for Naana and her beautiful kind and hearted Jane and Sonny.

Why anybody will want to do this to a family in mourning beats my imagination.

Yes, several members of our party in the constituency in general have approached to suggest that I consider the idea and my response to them have remained the same, that I be allowed to bury the father of my children in peace, and that the time is quite inappropriate for me now to engage in any such discussions.

I have also encouraged all to take the matter of the by-election in our constituency to the Lord in prayer.

I have heard of agitations from sections of the constituency for my candidature and I have sought to discourage those actions believing that at the right time the rank and file of the party shall decide on a candidate that we should all support.

I appeal to the NPP family to tone down on the politics a bit in honour of a man, who sacrificed and paid his due to the party at this time as the family prepares for a befitting burial.

Let us join the family mourn a brother, a father, a husband, a gentle soul who loved humankind extremely.

Signed

Lydia Alhassan
