Black Bombers trainer, Kwasi Ofori Asare, says WBO super bantamweight champion, Isaac Dogboe must take a two-pronged approach when he defends his title against Mexican Emanuel Navarrete on Saturday night at the Madison Square Garden in New York.
Asare, who handled Dogboe when he was drafted into the Black Bombers for the 2012 Olympic Games in London, believes the
champion has what it takes to overcome the Mexican but cautioned him to tread cautiously and handle the challenger on two fronts.
“He must fight Navarrete on two fronts, he must go for the knockout and if that fails use his hand speed to beat him,” he told the Daily Gaphic newspaper.
The veteran trainer hinted that tonight’s fight was going to be a keen contest but maintained that the undefeated Dogboe had the edge over his Mexican opponent.
He said Navarrete could be the Ghanaian’s toughest opponent so far and, therefore advised Dogboe to guard against complacency.
“He must remain disciplined and focus and take the fight to his opponent, there should be no room for the slightest error.”
