The Paramount Chief of Tema, Nii Adjei Kraku II, has warned persons he claimed are declaring him dead to desist from the wicked act.

He says while he is not perturbed by the mud-slinging, he is inundated with the calls by concerned citizens who get disturbed by the alarm and follow up to find out the truth.

Closing a brief ceremony in Tema where the West Africa Gas Pipeline Company (WAPCo), as part of its Community Youth Enterprise Scheme presented state of the art tools and equipment as start-up to 18 students it had sponsored to complete various technical and vocational training courses, Nii Adjei Kraku II said if those perpetrating the wicked act thought they were doing it to dampen his spirit, they would fail because they are not God.

The students were drawn from the Tema and Kpone traditional areas and undertook courses such as Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing, CAtering and Hotel Management, Auto Mechanics, Electicals and Fashion and Design at various technical and vocational institutes.

Speaking in fluent Ga, he said while his trust is in God and his stool, he knows he is well protected.

The worried chief whose pronouncements drew laughter from among the retinue of chiefs and Queen-mothers gathered at the ceremony, continued that while he is not the first to occupy the throne, he is aware death awaits everyone. But until his end, he said he would not allow anyone to peddle that falsehood and asked those involved to put a stop to it.

He explained that those perpetuating the act mean to suggest that he is the most deserving of death among all the people of the area and wondered what crime he may have committed to deserve such a punishment.

Emphasising that every soul will taste death, he said it is only the Lord Jesus Christ who died and rose again because of His righteousness, and of whom all the world bear witness.

Still picking admonitions from the Bible, Nii Adjei Kraku said even some people who had their deaths foretold, had their years extended by God and therefore cautioned his detractors to be careful. He reminded them that the wages of sin is death, but God is merciful to the repentant sinner, and asked all who saw and heard him to go tell those spreading the false death stories that he is alive and kicking.
