General News of Friday, 23 November 2018
Member of Parliament for Mion Constituency, Mohammed Adul Aziz has stated that the NPP Government is not providing full disclosure on issues concerning the University of Environment and Sustainable Development in Somanya.
The MP alleged that Government has moved facilities that are supposed to be in Donkorkrom (Somanya) to Bonsu, aimed at moving the University to Bonsu, contrary to what President Akufo-Addo has said.
President Akufo-Addo debunked rumors about the movement of the University to Bonsu on Thursday, November 22 when he visited the University site in Somanyo as part of a 3-day visit to the Eastern region.
The President stated that the information out there about the relocation is an attempt by his opponents to misinform the public.
But speaking on 3FM Sunrise morning show on Friday, November 23, Mohammed Abdul Aziz insists the NDC is not misinforming the public as the President has said.
“The one involved in deceit and misinformation of the public is the Government. The President should not mislead Ghanaians. The president is trying to shift the argument,” he argued.
“I don’t know what the president was talking about. However, he is either ill informed or he is playing an open partisan politics.”
He rather accused the President of trying to misdirect the legacy which was left behind by the NDC Government.
“There is every attempt by President Akufo-Addo to play some game with the legacy left behind; I hope they come to the realization that when you come to meet a project, you don’t try to hurt it if there is nothing you are doing to help it.”
