Bishop Frederick France bemoaned the haphazard behaviour of motorists on roads
Chief Bishop Frederick France of the Faith Evangelical Mission Worldwide (FEMW) at Mataheko in Accra has advised motorists to strictly abide by road traffic regulations to avoid knockdowns and accidents.
He equally advised pedestrians to be extra cautious when crossing the road.
Chief Bishop France gave the advice in an interview with the Ghana News Agency during the first-anniversary celebration and thanksgiving service for the late Chief Bishop Dr Isaac Rex Noi, the Founder of the FEMW.
He bemoaned situations where some motorists, instead of stopping for pedestrians to cross at zebra crossings, rather maintained their speed forcing the pedestrian to run, which was inappropriate.
Chief Bishop France asked both motorists and pedestrians to be disciplined when using the road to forestall mistakes that cause accidents.
He described the late Chief Bishop Noi as a man of humility and peace.
Bishop Tackie-Yarboi, the Founder and Head Pastor of the Victory Bible Church International, urged members of the Church and Ghanaians, in general, to maintain the existing peace in the country.
He called on the citizenry to continue to contribute and sacrifice towards the development of the country adding that “no other person can do that for us. Peace and unity should be our priority as a nation.”
Mr Ebenezer Nartey, the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma Central, asked members of the Church to continue steadfastly in the faith and put their shoulders to the wheel to build on the legacy of the late Bishop.
He advised residents within his constituency and the members of the Church to observe good sanitation practices in their communities.
He also called on drivers to be cautious as the Christmas approaches to avoid road accidents.
The Church established a basic school and a hospital during the office of the late Bishop. A bust was unveiled in his honour.
Of the 53 branches of the Church across the country, about 13 were in attendance to bid a befitting farewell to the late Bishop.
