One of the candidates hoping to lead the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2020 elections, Stephen Atubiga, has disclosed that he in the business of buying votes.

He has also added that though the other aspirants also buy votes, he spends more money than they do and that will be enough to cause their defeats.

“I can say without fear, I have spent more money than all the aspirants. They are giving 10 cedis and 20 cedis to their supporters and delegates but I give 30 to 50 cedis and more,” he said.

He said even though he is not a former appointee, he has what it takes to make the delegates yearn for him.

“I am spending more than them [other aspirants]. It is not about giving money when you meet them, you have to give them money. Remember most of the people have to buy fuel for transportation and other things,” he told Joy News’ at the party’s delegates congress on Saturday.

Mr Atubiga insists he feels confident about his chances, adding that he is amazed by the support from friends.

He said he’s the only candidate who can retire former President John Mahama in the 2020 elections and politics in general.

Asked if he is not worried about John Mahama’s huge following he said “ The crowd is nothing. People should not look at the crowd. Kwaku Bonsam will get a crowd, Lil Win will get a crowd. People should not look at the crowd because the crowd is nothing,” he stated.
