Inter Milan ace Kwadwo Asamoah has withdrawn from Ghana’s squad for next week’s AFCON qualifier against Ethiopia due to a knee injury, the Ghana Football Association has confirmed.

The 29 year old is said to have suffered a swollen knee, while featuring for Inter in Sunday’s shock 4-1 defeat to Atalanta in the Serie A.

It is however believed that Coach Kwasi Appiah will not alter his squad, meaning no replacement will be called thus Ghana will travel to Kenya for camping with a 19-man squad.

Asamoah made his return to the national team setup in September against Kenya in Nairobi, after a four year absence.
