Last week saw singer Pharrell Williams announce a collaboration with Chanel at the presentation of their Cruise 2018/2019 collection in Bangkok, Thailand.
No stranger to working with the biggest names in fashion, few have a resume as illustrious as Williams. He has launched his own brands Billionaire Boys and Ice Cream, modelled for Louis Vuitton, had a successful collaboration with Adidas Originals and is a part owner of G-Star Raw. It’s safe to say he is one of the industry’s most sought after (and profitable) muses and collaborators.
Williams has worked for Chanel before. He appeared in campaigns for the Gabrielle handbag line and produced music alongside Cara Delevingne for a film to accompany its Paris-Salzburg show for pre-fall 2015. He is a constant fixture in the front row of their shows. However, the closest he has got to a collaboration was last year’s limited run of his line of Adidas Originals NMD branded with the fashion house’s distinctive logo.
