Legendary highlife musician, Nana Tuffour, has revealed what upcoming musicians are doing wrong when it comes to doing music.
According to him, even though musicians such as Kidi, Kuami Eugene and King Promise are doing well in the music industry, they have to “elaborate their lyrics”.
Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM on Wednesday, the “Odo Kakra Sika Kakra” composer urged Ghanaians musicians to enrich their lyrics.

He said, “King Promise, Kidi, Kuami Eugene, I like their reflexes and voices. What is left with them is the lyrics. They don’t elaborate. That brings in the passion so the songs never die. If you sing in a simple manner, people will dance and have the feel but it didn’t come from your heart.”

Asked about the way forward for the upcoming acts, the highlife crooner said: “The lyrics should always be explained further so people can relate it to life,” he advised.
Nana Tuffour was the frontman of the Waza Africo Band in the 1970s.
In 1979, he released his first album ‘Highlife Romance’ and has since released other hit albums.
He has won many excellence awards and his last album, “Abeiku”, was very popular among the old and the young.
