Ghana’s representatives for the next CAF Confederation Cup, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, arrived in Takoradi on Tuesday to prepare for their continental campaign.

According to the club’s CEO, Mr George Amoako, 30 players made the trip to the Western Regional capital.

He said the players comprised the 26 players who were registered for Africa and four others who are under observation by the coach.

Per the CAF regulations, each participating club is supposed to register 30 players for the competition.

That means Kotoko still have four players to beef up their squad when the registration opens in the course of the campaign.

Mr Amoako revealed to Graphic Sports in an exclusive interview on Tuesday evening that the Takoradi camping will last for 10 days.

He told Graphic Sports Online that during the period, Charles Kwabla Akonnor’s side would engage in a number of friendly matches with some local clubs at the Sekondi Stadium at Essipon.

The Kotoko boss also revealed that Kotoko will be lodging at a nearby hotel in Kojokrom, to ensure easy access to the Essipon stadium training ground.

Kotoko, who are yet know their first round opponents, are expected to begin the African campaign on November 27 or 28.
