Chief Executive Officer of the Special Investment Limited, Dr Ernest Ofori-Sarpong has been adjudged the best Ashanti Region Business Icon of the Year, at the 2018 Ghana Business Quality Awards for his special contribution to Ghana’s industrialisation.
The Ghana Business Quality Awards is an annual event that rewards excellence among the most committed and dedicated entrepreneurs and corporate executives in Ghana.
The Award focuses on recognizing outstanding entrepreneurs and corporate executives who have positively impacted the economic growth of Ghana.
Dr Ofori Sarpong is the CEO of Special Ice Limited, producers of bottled mineral water and carbonated soft drinks with 6 different flavors.
He is also the co-founder of Best Point Savings and Loans Company Limited which is one of the highly recognized financial institutions now in Ghana.
His business partner, Dr Osei Kwame also known as Kwame Despite was also awarded for his exceptional contribution to the creation of jobs and development of the Ghanaian economy.
Kwame Despite is the owner of the Despite Group of Companies, a trading company with subsidiaries in the media industry including Accra-based Peace FM, Kay FM and Neat FM.
He is also the owner if Neat Food Limited which processes local plantain, cocoyam and maize into powdered form known as Neat fufu.
Other winners at the second edition of the Ghana Business Quality Awards include Fidelity Bank, Reroy Group, Coconut Grove Hotel.
