Bantama (Ash), Oct. 12, GNA – Reverend Kwamina
Peters, the Head Pastor of the Saint James Baptist Church at Bantama, a suburb
of Kumasi, has called on Christians to live by biblical principles to impact
positively on the society.

At a time when people are struggling to make
ends meet, Christians should not only preach the gospel, but practically lend a
hand to the poor and needy in our society – this is true religion,” he said.

Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News
Agency, Reverend Peters called on pastors and church leaders to inculcate in
their congregations the spirit of giving by supporting the needy within and
outside their fold.

The Head Pastor quoting from Deuteronomy 15:7,
said “God blesses people to make them a blessing to others, and that our focus
as Christians should be on the welfare of the vulnerable groups in our
country”.

Reverend Peters said the country is now at the
crossroads of economic development and urged Christians, and Ghanaians in
general, to support government in prayer as patriotic citizens, in order to
overcome the situation.

“Let’s think of what we can do for our nation
and not what the government must do for us,” he said.
